1. What exactly is a brass quintet?     It's an ensemble of five brass instruments (as opposed to reed instruments or strings), usually two trumpets, one french horn, a trombone and a tuba.  The blended sound of these different but complementary instruments can be pure magic, as you'll appreciate if you've ever listened to the Canadian Brass, perhaps the world's most famous brass quintet.

2. Wouldn't a group of five brass players be rather loud?     Well we can be, if that's what you want, e.g. a summer concert in a park, with no amplification required!  However, we also regularly play indoor concerts at seniors' residences and background music for receptions. If in doubt, please contact us.  If we're not right for your event, we'll say so, and may be able to recommend another group.

3. What do you charge?     That really depends on the event. For fund-raisers, hospitals, etc, we often play gratis. For private parties or corporate events our fees are surprisingly affordable - certainly less than you would pay, e.g., for a quality jazz combo or string quartet.  Asking us for a quote costs nothing!

4. What sort of music don't you play?     Well, we don't do current "pop" music, modern jazz, hip-hop, disco or (perhaps ironically) heavy metal.  Music written or scored for brass quintet tends to be a bit more traditional!

5. Can I listen to sound clips?     Sure, just click on the "Our Sound" tab.
